TQ3203NW CRESCENT PLACE 577-1/48/176 (East side) 20/08/71 Nos.1 AND 2 and attached railings (Formerly Listed as: CRESCENT PLACE Nos.1 AND 2 Crescent Lodge)

Terraced houses. c1825. Probably designed by Amon Wilds and Charles Augustin Busby. Stucco. Roof obscured by blocking course. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys over basement. 2 windows each. Round-arched entrance with fanlight to No.2, flat-arched to No.1. Ground floor has banded, chamfered rustication to side of entrance. Ground floor has segmental bay of 2 flat-arched windows; cast-iron window guards to this bay, those on No.1 partially destroyed. First-floor verandah with wooden rails and stanchions continuous across elevations; lean-to roof of metal; verandah of No.2 has been enclosed by C20 glazing. Within each verandah is a single storey bay; that to No.1 segmental and to No.2 rectangular, both with flat-arched tripartite windows. To the side of first floor bay and above the entrance is a flat-arched window, the upper sash of No.2 has arched glazing bars of original design. Floating cornice to second-floor window above bay on No.2; above the bay on No.is a triangular bay of 2 windows. All windows flat arched with projecting sills. Cornice and blocking course. INTERIOR: not inspected. Railings to stairs and areas.
