Terraced houses. c1825. Probably designed by Amon Wilds and
Charles Augustin Busby. Stucco. Roof of slate turnerised
except for No.4 which is obscured by blocking course.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and dormer over basement. One window each.
Round-arched entrance to Nos 5-7, fanlight of No.6 blocked;
entrance to No.4 flat arched. Banded rustication to ground
floors. All have first-floor balconies, those to Nos 4, and
6-7 supported by cast-iron brackets; all have cast-iron
railings. There are traces of a verandah plainly visible on
Nos 5-7. To the right of each entrance rises a 2-storey
segmental bay with tripartite windows. All windows flat
arched. Bay terminates in entablature; bay to No.5 is canted
and nearly full height, stopping just short of the entablature
and blocking course. Sashes of original design to Nos 6 and 7:
ground floor has 8 x 8 sashes to centre and 2 x 2 to sides;
first floor has 3-pane French doors, with 3-pane sidelight
with margin glazing and glazed transoms as well; second floor
of No.6 only has 6 x 6 sashes. One dormer each; flat arched
with simple segmental pediment to Nos 4 and 7, No.5 flat
arched and No.6 segmental arched. Stacks to party walls.
