Semi-detached houses. c1845. Stucco, roof of asbestos slate.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys over basement; the houses follow the same
pattern as those in Montpelier Villas (qv): a front part with
one-window range to Buckingham Place and 3-window range to the
return; and a broader, rear part of 2-window range, the
entrance in the angle between the 2 parts. Ground floor
decorated with banded rustication. Steps up to flat-arched
entrance with overlight flanked by pilasters supporting
console brackets to first-floor balcony with scalloped
balustrade. The front part has a canted bay to the ground
floor with a balcony carried on octagonal columns, cast-iron
railings and canopy over, the canopy lacking to No.30;
first-floor windows flat-arched, the first 2 to the return
blank. The back part has a canted bay to the ground floor;
varied fenestration to first floor of No.30, and one-window
blank to No.32; continuous eaves on console brackets with
paterae between; 2 hipped roofs with ridge stacks and stack to
party wall. The approach to the entrance on both houses has a
stuccoed balustrade, level to No.30, up steps to No.32.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Garden wall of knapped flint in panels of red brick with
stucco coping; square gate piers of brick and stucco, gabled
to No.30 and pedimented to No.32.
