Terraced houses. c1846. Built by Thomas Cubitt. Brick in
Flemish bond, stucco to ground floor and stucco dressings;
roof parapeted.
Each has 3 storeys over basement. 2 windows each. All
ground-floor openings are round arched; all upper-floor
windows flat arched. Steps up to entrance with overlight of
original glazing bars; studded doors of original design.
Ground floor treated as rustication becoming voussoirs over
round-arched openings. Cast-iron brackets and railings to
first-floor balcony continuous across all 3 units. French
doors to first floor with architraves and cornice; glazing
bars of an original design, 3 x 3, with 2-pane transom.
Second-floor windows with architraves and projecting sills.
Cornice continuous across all units. Railings to stairs and
areas. Stack to party wall between Nos 2 and 3.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Nos 1-17 (consecutive) (qv) Belgrave Place form an important
group.
