GV II

House, now shop and offices. Early C19. Red brick in Flemish bond, stucco cement trim. Roof of slate. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and one dormer. One-window range. Late C19 shop front to ground floor: dentil cornice topped by grille in conventionalized floral pattern, both terminating in a fluted console bracket stop to each party wall. A shallow rectangular bay rises through first and second floors. All the windows are flat arched. Tripartite windows to first floor, the centre light separated from the sides by narrow brick piers which are repeated at the corners of the bay. There are string courses between the first and second floors of the bay only. Single window with sidelights to second floor, sill band to bay only. The lintel of the second-floor window is in need of repair. Entablature with projecting cornice topped by parapet which runs across the entire facade. The single roof dormer is flat arched. Sashes of original design to first floor: 9 x 9 sashes to centre light and 3 x 3 sashes to sides. To the second floor, there are 6 x 6 sashes to the centre and 4 x 4 sashes to the sides. Stacks to party walls. INTERIOR: not inspected. No.3 forms a group with Nos 1, 4, 5 and 6 Bartholomews (qv).
