House. Early C18 (c1710: RCHM Typescript). Red brick with old red tile roof. Double-pile plan main block of 2 storeys, cellar and attics, 5 windows wide, facing N and S. Internal end-wall chimneys. 3-room single-pile plan W wing. 3 hipped dormers on each front with wooden cornices, are partly hidden by the brick parapet with moulded band at eaves level. Similar hand at floor level. Symmetrical N and S fronts each with central doorway and slightly recessed box sash windows with 6/6 panes under segmental gauged arches. 6-panel fielded doors. N front has a pilastered Tuscan doorcase with full entablature and triangular pediment. S front to garden has a fanlight and a Doric doorcase with fluted pilasters, and entablature with triglyphs. Fine close string staircase with urn balusters and square newels. Fluted pilasters support arch with keystone from hall to stair. Similar archway with double keystone to S entrance from garden. Pine panelled rooms with 2-panel doors, H-hinges and moulded cornices. (Pevsner (1977) 401)
