Terrace of dwellings. c1840-50, mid C20 alterations to attic
storey. Stucco over brick, slate roofs. Terrace on hillside. 3
storeys plus attic, and 4 storeys, over basement, 3-window
frontage to each shallow curved, full-height bay; sash windows
with some glazing bars missing, pilaster parapet masking attic
at north end where 4-storey elevations, moulded cornice, (some
with modillions), moulded surrounds to square-headed windows,
rusticated ground floors, paired pilaster doorcases, doors
mostly half-glazed with leaded lights, approached by short
flight of steps, some with tessellated pavements.
Individual cast-iron balustrade to first floor of each
dwelling; the 6 north bays with deep moulded cornice to ground
floor carrying flat cast-iron balustrade with cast-iron piers.
Some windows with cast-iron window box guards. Rebuilding of
attic space, especially at the south end of the terrace. No.10
with frieze of paired calyx and fan or shell-shaped motifs.
Low walls returned along road frontage from entrances with
balusters and piers, some railings.
