Terrace. 1830-32. Architect C.A.Busby. Stucco over brick, roofs concealed behind parapet. Terrace abutting the east return of 33-42 Brunswick Terrace (qv). 4 storeys over basement; No.1 double bow fronted with 5 windows; others single bows with 3-window frontages, sash windows mainly without glazing bars, parapet with balustrade (missing from No 1), cornice, string courses, rusticated ground floors; first floor balconies of cast-iron to No.3, Nos 5 & 7 with renewed wrought-iron; entrance to No 1 centre with double doors approached by flight of steps, entrances to others on right side facing up the hill and away from the sea breezes, unusual porches of piers surmounted by busts of philosophers, or bearded men, with egg-and-dart moulded abacus carrying broad entablature with dentil moulded cornice, original 6-panel doors to Nos 5 & 7, C20 door to No.3, all approached by short flights of steps. Cast-iron railings returned from entrances along street frontage.
