GV II*

House now offices. Late C18. Brick with Welsh slate and plain tiled roofs. Main range of 3 storeys and 5-window range with central door in Ionic case with fluted pilasters. Flush-framed 12-pane sash windows with flat-arched gauged brick heads with stressed brick keys. Parapet with narrow stone cornice. Curved coped gable walls. To the left, a further range is a separate and later construction: long front wall with a single 12-pane sash window on each floor, and curved gable end with 12-pane sashes with flat-arched stuccoed heads. INTERIOR: an almost complete late C18 interior, with central staircase with alternately turned and twisted balusters, swept moulded rail, carved tread ends and dado panelling. Principal rooms all have complete wall panelling, with Corinthian pilasters in one lower room, and ornate panelling over doors and marble fireplaces in upper rooms. Upper right-hand room panelled with Corinthian pilasters and heavy cornice, enriched in marquetry and said to be wych-elm.
