1. KETTLETHORPE HALL DRIVE 5115 off Standbridge Lane

Kettlethorpe Hall (formerly listed under Sandal liKgrm) SE 31 NW 13/41 14.7.53.

2. Dated 1727 on keystone at 1st floor centre. Small but exquisite house with crisp and lively detail. 2-storey, five windows, with one-storey outer bays. Ashlar with quoins, 1st floor band, enriched cornice and tall parapet with scrolled sides and urn finials (some removed at time of survey), Tall central chimney stack surrounded by separate column shafts linked by entablature. Sash windows with glazing bars, in architraves with sculptured keystones on 1st floor, and in raised surrounds with entablatures and pediments (with ornament of fruit, flowers and animals) below. Doorcase of strapwork pilasters and bracketed serpentine own pediment with draped escutcheon. Initials ANA on key. Considerable early and late C19 additions behind, Some woodwork remains inside and a few fireplaces cut no original plasterwork except for some single cornices. Staircase with carved tread ends and ramped handrail in stairwell with dado panelling and domed roof light. Several pretty Victorian chimneypieces.
