Gate piers, gates and retaining wall
to churchyard of former Church of St
Peter

Gate piers, gates, and retaining wall to raised churchyard.
1825; altered. The retaining wall, enclosing the west and
south sides of the churchyard, and a short portion of the east
side, is of coursed squared sandstone, with a ridged coping
(formerly carrying railings). The gateway, near the west end
of the south side, has a pair of tall octagonal piers with
prominent cornices and embattled caps; and a pair of ramped
wrought-iron gates with dog-bars, scrolled top bands, and
spear-headed railings. Included for group value.
