49/1300 No. 45 (Bank of - Liverpool) G.V. II

Includes No. 24 Sir Thomas Street. Bank building. 1882. G.E. Grayson. Stone with grey granite base, attached columns and pilasters. 3 storeys with basement and attic, 7 bays with canted corner bays, and 5 bays to Sir Thomas Street. Ground floor with channelled rustication. Inserted cashpoint in canted corner bay to left. Entablatures to storeys. Casements to ground floor, sashes without glazing bars to upper windows. Central entrance with granite doorcase surmounted by frieze with foliage and letters "BANK OF LIVERPOOL", segmental pediment with coins and date. 1st floor round-headed windows in rectangular recesses, carved panels between. Centre 3 windows with square heads behind attached Doric colonnade with flanking paired pilasters; balustraded balconies. 2nd floor window with pediments, central bays as 1st floor. Attic storey with 2-light windows between carved panels. Cornice with central open pediment on panelled pilasters containing round-arched recess with arms. Corner bays have carved panels with round pediments and flanking chimneys. Sir Thomas Street facade similar.
