ROOS TUNSTALL TA 33 SW 9/65 Church of All Saints 16.12.66 I Church. C13 chancel, C14 nave, C14 west tower raised in C15, early C19 porch. Cobbles with stone dressings, brick porch, graduated slate roof. 3-stage west tower, 3-bay aisled nave with south porch, 2-bay chancel. West tower: moulded plinth, chamfered strings. Small lancet to second stage, 2-light pointed belfry openings with cusped Y-tracery. Crenellated parapet. 3-light pointed west window with Perpendicular tracery under hood-mould. Nave: 2-light square-headed windows with Perpendicular tracery to west and centre, similar 3-light window to east. Pointed south door with continuous mouldings. Clerestory: three 3-light pointed windows with Perpendicular tracery. Hollow-chamfered cornice, raised coped gables. Chancel: lancet to west, pointed priests door with moulded capitals and hood-mould to centre. The east end of the chancel has been rebuilt. 3-light pointed east window with Perpendicular tracery under blank quatrefoil to raised coped gable with cross finial. Interior: double chamfered pointed tower arch with moulded capitals and raised moulded base. North respond incorporates a medieval yellow-glazed floor tile. C14 north arcade of 3 pointed double-chamfered arches (the west arch considerably wider than the other two) on moulded capitals and octagonal piers with moulded bases. Similar, C15, south arcade, with chamfered bases. Squint window to chancel south wall. Pointed double-chamfered chancel arch on chamfered responds: north respond has a re- used stone carved with interlocking rings above a chequered pattern. C14 font: circular pier surrounded by the bases for 8 colonnettes, now missing. Octagonal tub with shields and quatrefoils. Behind the font is a broken C13 grave cover carved with a stepped base, incorporating a wheel motif, to a cross of which the head is missing.
