Ventilation Station and offices. 1925-34. Sir Basil Mott and J. A. Brodie with Herbert J. Rowse as architect. Built as part of the Mersey Road Tunnel. Portland stone. storeys. Rusticated ground floor. Windows to north and south in tall recesses flanked by relief sculptures. West facade has windows to end bays,and entrances, centre block has entrance flanked by niches containing bronze figures, term over.East facade has 3 empty niches, paved areas to north and south have retaining walls, rails and lamp standards, 2 square piers to north have rusticated bases and banded caps.
