Detached house, 1832, built by S.W. Appleton, of red brick with pyramidal grey slate roof. Two storeys, three windows; square plan with rear wing. Plain rendered plinth; two stone steps; door with six raised and fielded panels, the central panels being square; recessed Roman Doric fluted three-quarter columns in plain opening with gauged-brick round arch containing looped radial-bar fanlight; twelve-pane recessed sashes with painted stone cills and wedge lintels; cornice with dentils: lead rolls to hips; square one-storey hipped bay windows to end walls, possibly added; round-arched stair window and datestone SWA 1832 at rear. Stair with stick balusters and curtail step; six-panel doors; plaster cornices and light mouldings to ceilings; added inner doorway to hall dated 1897 has purpose-made stained glass screen.
