DODCOTT CUM WILKESLEY C.P. WHITCHURCH ROAD SJ 54 SE 6/41 Stone Lodge - - II Gate lodge to Combermere Abbey. c.1850. By the Morrisons of Ireland. Red sandstone ashlar and slate roof. The drive front has a projecting gabled wing of 2 storeys to right and a single-storey range and gabled porch at left. The gabled 2-storey portion at right has a canted 2-storey bay window with hipped roof. To the first floor is a 2-light window with Tudor hood-mould. Both of these windows have cusped heads to the lights. To the gable is a lead coat of arms of Viscount Combermere. Moulded coping to the eaves and a sceptre finial. To the left of this and slightly recessed is the single-storey range with four single-light plate-glass windows with flat heads surmounted by blind cusped panels. To left of this is the projecting gabled porch with arched doorway which has a moulded surround, hood mould and further coat of arms to the gable with moulded coping and post finial to the gable. Left hand side: two-light window to the single-storey porch and 2-flue chimney stack to the upper body of the 2-storey wing with plain rectangular lower body and moulded flues above.
