DODCOTT CUM WILKESLEY C.P. COMBERMERE PARK SJ 54 SE 6/29 Brankelow Cottage - GV II House, formerly gamekeepers cottage with kennels to either side. Early C19. Red Flemish bond brick with ashlar dressings and a slate roof with lead flashings. Single and two storeys. Lake front: 7 bays symmetrically disposed. Single storeyed. Central projecting portion of three bays with two-light French windows to ground floor which have pointed arched tops and intersecting glazing bars. The bays are divided by pilasters which are capped by ashlar crocketed finials with a battlemented parapet between. Above the windows are floating Tudor hood moulds. To either side and slightly recessed are wings with C20 windows to the centre and insersecting glazing bars to the pointed heads. To either side are projecting pavilions which have central French windows with recessed blind arrow slits to either side and similar heart-shaped decorations above. Pilaster buttresses to the corners rising to crocketed pinnacles with battlemented parapet between. The rear has a central projecting block of 2 storeys with three bays having cambered headed 2-light windows to the ground and first floors. To either side are C20 quarter-circular additions.
