2/18 Chaigeley School

House, now a boarding school, early C19 altered mid C19 and extended
to near mid C20. Brick with stucco dressings; grey slate roof.
Symmetrical front of 3 storeys and 3 windows (5 to 3rd storey) with
pediment gable, stucco Roman Doric doorcase containing part-glazed
6-panel door with 2-storey rendered canted mid-to-late C19 bay window
to each side containing 4-pane recessed sashes under keystone lintels.
Above the door is a 4-pane sash in shouldered moulded stucco case with
entablature; a similar but shorter window to 3rd storey with 2
flush-frame 4-pane sashes under keystone lintels to each side.
Interior: Right front room has moulded plaster ceiling of geometrical
panels; left front room has curved niche in rear wall; doors from
hall have early C19 moulded cases. Late C19 open-well stair. Doors
on upper storeys have 6 fielded panels.
