Bridge, 1819 by Ignatius Bonomi for John Lambton, later 1st Earl of Durham. Slightly hump-backed, single-track bridge over the River Wear. Ashlar sandstone; dressed stone end walls with cast-iron railings.

Both faces identical. Slightly-pointed, 25-metre span arch with roll-moulded arch band. Parapet and band at road level are raked down in a series of steps to either side of apex. Parapet has chamfered coping and splayed ends. Rectangular-plan end abutments rise to form pedestals flanking roadway; each pedestal has cornice and a carved stone lamb. Low, splayed end walls with flat coping and railings. Railings have alternating arcaded and wavy bars, a double top rail with scrollwork infill and similar square-plan end posts.

This bridge straddles the parishes of Bournmoor and North Lodge.
