House, mid to late C16 altered, with early C19 wing and later
additions; on an earlier moated site. Timber framed, painted brick
nogging to two facades. Mostly brick faced. Slate roofs, tile
ridges. 2 storey L plan. Exposed stone stack, stepped with chamfered
drip. Stone stack with brick upper portion, now internal. The oldest
parts have C19 3 light sash windows, one with glazing bars. 2 other
recent casements. Stud door in added brick porch. 1 gable has
slightly moulded bargeboards. Rear: Close studding, shallow 1st
floor jettying with moulded bressumer. Moulded corbels, recent
casements. C19 wing: brick, stone capped gable parapet, gable end
stacks. 3 bay, recessed sashes. Central stone porch and 2 stone bays
with slight stop chamfers. Eaves modillions. Added brick blocks to
rear, painted, simulating timber framing.
Interior: Part inspected. Inglenook. Some panelling, and doors,
perhaps reused. Panelled cupboards of similar date in C19 part. Rear
wing: chamfered and ovolo moulded beams. Central wing. 1st floor
undecorated cruck. Stair in back wing has octagonal newel post.
