Farmhouse. Early mid C17. Exceptionally well preserved example. Extension on N of Cl7, altered c1920. Square plan house, 3 windows each side. Nearly symmetrical plan, a room each side of staircase hall on W. Plastered brick walls. 2 coped gable ends to W and E elevations. 1st and 2nd floor bands. 2 storeys and attics. Machine tile H-plan roof with 2 cemented cross-plan chimney stacks rising from left and right centre. W elevation has original cross bar casements to 1st floor. Original wide plank door in 4-centre arched chamfered stone surround. E elevation door has shallow moulded stiles and mutins forming square panels. Stone surround with moulded imposts, arch and cornice. Replacement 2 and 4 light mullioned windows. Interior has oak panelling throughout. Fireplaces to all ground floor rooms have moulded 4-centre stone arches, those to E rooms with 2-arch oak overmantels. Large renewed Jacobean style open stringy staircase with tall figured newel posts. 5-window N extension has imitation half timber upper floor and C17 red brick ground floor. Tudor style chimney shafts on C18 base. C20 extension beyond.
