54/689 Nos 81 to 87 (odd) (The Vines Public House) 14.3.75. G.V. II*

Public house. 1907. Walter Thomas. Stone, the ground floor granite faced. 3 storeys and attics. 9 bays, canted corner bay, 6-bay return. Symmetrical. Ground floor rusticated with bowed windows and original engraved glass. Central and corner entrances have large triple keystones and segmental open pediments. Upper windows have architraves and casements. 3 windows in centre, over a round-arched doorway. 2 large curly gabled attics, steep slate roof, large round tower on corner with domed roof. Ground floor has 4 convex glazed windows, and another round-arched entrance on angle. Moulded architraves, finials, balustraded parapet, and Ionic pilasters between 2nd floor windows. Good interior, with carved mahogany and cut glass. Dining room with glazed cupola, original bar fittings and 2 fire places.
