UXBRIDGE ROAD 1. 5010 (Twyford Crescent) W3 The Elms TQ 18 SE 2/85 25.1.51 II* 2. Circa 1720. Brown brick with red dressings. Two storeys and attic, 5 double hung sashes in architraves with sills, segmental arches and keystones. Basement plinth, 6 stone steps up to door of 4 triangular and 6 rectangular fielded panels. Rusticated door surround. Four, 2-storey Roman Doric pilasters on plinths and surmounted by entablature with pulvinated frieze and pediment with elliptical arched windows. Welsh slate roof, 2 segmental-headed dormers. Left hand one-storey late C18 wing of 3 dummy segmental-arched windows. Slight central projection, parapet. Right hand late C18 two-storey office wing with arcaded ground floor of 6 segmental arches. North elevation has ground floor window with architrave, consoles and segmental hood; door with elaborate carved consoles and large hood with soffit of 6 small fielded panels. Interior: many panelled rooms. Some original unpretentious fireplaces, fine turned balusters and carved spandrels to cut string staircase. Late C18 drawing room has excellent plaster walls and plaster and painted ceiling in the Adam manner.
