ASPULL FARM LANE SD 60 NW (south end) 6/13 Kirkless Hall and Kirkless 9.6.66 Hall Farmhouse - II House, now 2 houses. Datestone, probably not original, reads "BUILT 1663", with later alterations and additions. Brick with stone dressings, slate roof. 2 storeys, 7 bays, the 7th bay a later addition. 1st and 5th bays project under gables. Stone base to 1st 4 bays, 1st bay has quoins and raised brick diapering. 5th bay is plastered on brick base, with timber-frame pattern. Windows are sashed with glazing bars, but those to 7th bay have single glazing bars. Windows to 1st bay and 2nd, 3rd, 4th bays of ground floor have wedge lintels, those to 6th and 7th bays of ground floor and 3rd bay of 1st floor have gauged-brick cambered arches, the latter is blocked with gablet with blocked round opening.lst bay has blocked segmental-headed windows with brick hoods flanking later windows, and paired to attic. Plain entrances to 2nd and 5th bays. Signs of blocked entrance to right return of 1st bay with datestone over, also to 7th bay. Cross-axial stack, one to rear wing and gable-end stack. Left return has projecting lateral stack and paired segmental-headed windows to right. Rear has various later projections.
