TF 39 NE GRAINTHORPE MAIN STREET
6/21 Grainthorpe Hall

House. Early C18 raised late C18. Red brick in Flemish bond
with slate roof having single raised stone coped gable, hip end,
and single gable and ridge stacks. L-plan. 3 storey, 5 bay
front with first floor band, the top floor is added. Central 6
panelled door having traceried fanlight with plain pilastered
wooden surround having dentillated open pediment, flanked by
pairs of glazing bar sashes. To first and second floors are 5
similar windows. All windows have segmental brick heads. To
left of front is a late C18 glazing bar canted bay having fluted
angle pilasters and flat lead roof. Interior retains early C18
stair with turned balusters and square newels with facetted ball
finials. On the first floor landing are 2 C18 corner full height
deal cupboards with semi-circular moulded architraves having
fluted keyblocks and shaped semi-circular shelves with sash hung
panelled doors to front. The south west first floor room has 2
cupboards with raised and fielded panelled doors to either side
of fireplace.
