LETCOMBE BASSETT SU38SE 10/126 The Old Rectory, barn approx 15 metres south-east (Formerly listed as The Old Rectory Barn)

GV II*

Barn. C14, C17. Weatherboard over timber frame on chalk, sarsen and brick base; thatched roof. L-plan. Front facing The Old Rectory has half-hipped roof to gable wall of C17 wing; wing to right has C18 plank doors with strap hinges in centre of 5-bay range; half-hipped roof to right. Interior: three C14 cruck trusses to right, with arch-braces to collar, have solid yokes to ridge, windbraces, and splayed joints to purlins. Left part has three C17 trusses and one C17 truss at juntion with one-bay wing to left: aisled with post arch- braced to wall-plate and tie bean; one queen post and three collar-trusses with side strust.
