NORTH STREET 1. (East Side) 1483 ------------ No 10 (The White Lion Public House) TL 0488 1/58 18.6.55.

2. Early C17. 2 storeys and attics with steep old stone slate roof. Dressed coursed stone face. Central entrance has 4-centre-arched head with moulded surround. Left of centre is 3-storey gabled bay, 5-light mullioned windows, dripmould above each storey, finials on apex and kneelers of the gable. Large stone inset in gable with initials E.H. and I.H. Right-hand side of the entrance is a canted 5-light bay to the ground floor. 3-light mullioned window to 1st floor large gabled dormer, gable similar to that on the bay, 3-light window. Interior:- 2 early fireplaces, 1 with the same initials as on stone in gable of the bay. See also No 12.
