Coaching Inn, now restaurant and bars. C16 with C18 front. Timber framed exposed
on inner return fronts with whitewashed brick infill, brown brick cladding to front.
Plain tiled roofs, partly obscured by brick coped parapets. Two storeys with square
corbelled stack to left, multiple corbelled stack to right. 2 larger bays to left
with tripartite glazing bar sash windows under gauged brick heads (painted over on
ground floor) to each floor. 5 bays to right of entrance: 3 storeys with glazing
bar sash windows on first and second floors under gauged brick and rendered key-
stoned heads. End bosses to metal tie beams above second floor windows. 3 ground
floor sash windows to right with keystoned gauged brick heads painted over. Leaded
casement window in whitewashed brick surround to right of entrance, flanked by
tapering pilasters - Acanthus leaf capitals. Gabled entrance bay to left of centre
with keyed roundel over "Venetian" window with gauged brick dressings. Full height,
arched, panelled coaching doors with large lantern over on scroll supports, to left
of centre. Scrolled flat hood with metal hangers to right end.
Inner return front: 6 framed bays with framing exposed. Early C18 fluted Doric
Pilaster surround and flat hood to left of centre. C20 casement fenestration with
single storey flat roofed square bay window to ground floor left. Single storey
brick wing extending a considerable distance to rear left.
